Step 1: Create a backup

  1. Go to the File menu
  2. Choose Back Up Data
  3. Choose a relevant location. For this, you can:
    1. Select Default Location to save it in the default location
    2. Choose Specify Alternate Location to backup the file to a network drive or some removable device. Browse to the location and enter a unique file name
  4. Choose Backup
  5. Click Finish

Step 2: Restore backup
The backup that you take is a compressed file. Hence, it needs to be decompressed and restored. The steps to do so are as follows:

  1. Go to File menu
  2. Choose Company Operations
  3. Move to Start Company window
  4. Select Restore from Backup radio button
  5. Click Next
  6. Select a suitable location from where you need to restore the file/folder from:
    1. Choose restore from default backups for selecting a default folder on the system hard drive
    2. Choose Browse to alternate backup file to restore from a removable media or network drive. Browse to the location and restore from there
    3. Choose Next
    4. Click Close. Your backup gets restored

Step 3: Test the backup

  1. Follow Step 1 and create a backup file
  2. Enter a new customer name in the data
  3. Go to File menu
  4. Select Restore Backup File
  5. Choose the backup that you have created in Step 3 (1)
  6. Click OK
  7. Choose Yes to confirm
  8. Click OK again
  9. Now choose OK when the restoring is complete
  10. Locate the customer that you created in Step 3 (2)
