  10. Go to C:\Users\{User logged on}\AppData\Local\Intuit\QBPOSShell.exe…\{last modified folder}
  11. Choose config file. Right-click it
  12. Click Renameand make it configold
  13. Close the window
  14. Open QB POS for Desktop

Solution 2: Create new admin for Windows
For Windows 7

  1. From Windows Startmenu, go to Control Panel
  2. Choose User Accounts
  3. From there, select Manage another account
  4. Click Create a new Accountand add an account name
  5. Select Administrator
  6. Choose Create Account
  7. Restart the PC
  8. Sign in with the new account details
  9. Open QB POS for Desktop

For Windows 8, 8.1, and 10

  1. Go to Windows Startmenu and right-click it
  2. Choose Control Panel
  3. Select User Accounts and Family Safety
  4. Choose User accounts
  5. Go to Manage another account
  6. Select Add a new user in PC settings
  7. Click Add a user
  8. Opt for Sign in without a Microsoft account
  9. Go to Local Account. Enter username and password
  10. Click Next, then Finish
  11. Restart the PC and sign in with the new account details
  12. Open QB POS for Desktop
